Introduction

What does GreasyPalm do for its members?

GreasyPalm provides it's members with cash discounts (in the form of rebates) when our members shop online from hundred's of leading UK brand name retailers.

By sharing the sales commissions earned from the retailers with our members, we provide our members with an incentive to ensure they use GreasyPalm for all their online purchases. Creating buying habits that retain user loyalty and produce residual income streams.

What will the GreasyPalm partner program do for me?

We invite you to partner with us and share the revenues generated by members you refer to GreasyPalm.

We have developed the technology to automate the processing of members rebates, we handle all the admin and member support, issue the rebate payments, maintain the site, create weekly newsletters and promotions to maximise revenues and continually negotiate improved terms with our partner retailers.

By joining our partner program you can tap into our marketing resource and share in the revenues.

Target Market

Who are the target audience for new GreasyPalm members?

UK consumers, aged over 18. Analyzing our members buying patterns we note that women are both more likely to join and produce more frequent transactions. However, it appears that male buyers have a tendency to make higher individual transactions.

How do you encourage people to join GreasyPalm?

With cash!

Currently we offer new members a £2.50 instant credit to their account simply for joining. Plus of course they will then enjoy ongoing cash discounts and rebates from all their ongoing purchases as long as they continue to use the GreasyPalm service.

How easy is it to introduce new members?

It's certainly not a hard sell. As a guide we have been seeing sign-up rates of between 10%-15% against our pay per click campaigns.

Our opt-in email campaigns have been especially successful, targeting a male demographic produced a sign-up rate of 33% from click through. While emails targeting females increased to a 50% success rate from click through.

We are constantly testing every element of our member acquisition campaign to improve results and will provide feedback to our partners as we identify new trends we feel you can use to your advantage.

Partner Revenues

How much will I earn per member I introduce?

This will depend on the type of member you introduce to GreasyPalm and more importantly the transactions they purchase through our retailers. Of course unless our members are actually making transactions then we won't generate revenues, so rest assured we will do all we can to encourage those essential revenue generating sales!

Bear in mind this is a long term offer.

Typically you should see revenues producing you an 'average' bounty within the first month or two (equivalent to many other affiliate 'registration/lead programs'). The real benefit of the ongoing revenue share will then be apparent over the following months and even years to follow.

So what exactly do I earn my revenue share percentage against?

Typically we share the retailers base sales commission with our members.

The excess is the profit margin which will then be shared with our partners.

For example, if a retailer pays us £25 then £12.50 would be awarded to the member leaving a margin of £12.50 which would be shared between GreasyPalm and the introducing partner based on their current revenue share level.

NB. The free £2.50 sign-up bonus given to new members is not included in the revenue share - this is actually a direct marketing cost of which GreasyPalm pays for directly.

What happens when you negotiate higher commission rates from the retailers?

As the site membership increases our members spending power enables us to negotiate improved terms from our retail partners.

Of course this has a positive effect on the profits and as we work with our partners on a revenue share basis this means you will see increased profits too.

How do you handle bonus payments?

A small number of our retailers pay additional one off performance bonuses. The manner in which they do this is based on aggregated sales for the month rather than on a per transaction basis.

These bonuses represent just a very small percentage of overall revenues and the distribution of revenue share payments for these is a little different.

We examine the total percentage of GreasyPalm members each partner has introduced and reward a share of the bonus payment accordingly. For example if you 'owned' 10% of the entire database you would receive 10% of the bonus amount.

Are there any sales targets?

No. Although the more members you introduce the higher your revenue share percentage (see the affiliate agreement for payment scales).

When will I receive my revenue share payments?

Although we pay our GreasyPalm members on a quarterly basis 30 days in arrears this has no effect on when you receive your revenue share payments.

We run partner payments month-end and then pay 30-45 days in arrears.

For example if we do a payment run January 31st all approved commissions for the month of January will be due 30 days later.

What exactly is an approved commission?

Each retailer works slightly differently, however typically each retailer notifies us when a sale has been authorised. While many retailers provide this notification in real-time, do bear in mind that some retailers only batch confirmed sale notifications every 30-45 days or after their customers 'returns period' has expired.

Is there a minimum I must earn before I get paid?

To minimise administrative costs the payment threshold is £25.

If your account balance is below this amount then your balance will be rolled forward to the next payment period.

How do you handle VAT?

If you are VAT registered then you must indicate your status when you join the partner program (if you become VAT registered after joining you can inform us by editing your account details from your partner admin pages).

Some of our retailers use a third party company to track and reward sales commissions. As this company is based in the USA, all revenues from this organization are zero-rated.

You will be paid the appropriate VAT on all the other transactions.

Once a payment run has been completed, you will be provided with the relevant invoice details for both the zero-rated and ex-vat transactions and be asked to submit an invoice to us for payment.

Tracking your members and transactions

How do you track new member sign-ups?

After registering as a partner we will provide you with a dedicated link URL to direct visitors to the GeasyPalm site.

Using both cookies and IP tracking we can then identify which new members you refer.

As soon as a member joins, we permanently tag their details with your affiliate ID within our members database. This tag cannot be removed or deleted. You 'own' this member and our database will automatically credit you with all future transactions made by this member - whether the cookie is still 'live' or not!

How can I see what transactions my referred members have generated?

You will be able to log in to your dedicated partner admin panel and review all individual transactions generated by members you have referred.

(From your admin panel look for the link that says 'see a commission transaction history')

Why can I see an order amount set to zero?

Sometimes a retailer will 'reverse' a sale usually as the customer has returned the goods (cancelled the order or had a problem with payment). In this case the retailer will of course not be paying a sales commission, our systems automatically collect this reversed sale and set the order value to zero.

If you have already been paid the commission against this sale it will be automatically deducted from your next payment period.

Why has a transaction amount been altered?

Occasionally customers return only part of the total order. In this case the retailer will inform us of the revised sale amount and the transaction history and due revenue share will be updated accordingly.

What happens if the retailer refuses to pay out the due commissions?

We choose our partners carefully, however in some circumstances it may be that a retailer for whatever reason fails to pay their due sales commissions.

If we fail to recover the due commissions then there is no revenue to share!

In terms of our actual members, while we stipulate that rebates are not guaranteed until payment is received, we recognise that the ongoing loyalty of our members usually exceeds the value of a single transaction. In this case and at the management's discretion we usually finance the members rebate ourselves. This 'shrinkage' or debt is not passed on to you as one of our partners.

I've just made a test purchase, how long before I see it reported?

This depends on the retailer. Some of the retailers log the sale immediately, others manually check and verify transactions and then 'batch' sales reports every few weeks.

Once the transaction has been authorised by the retailer both the members and partners reports are usually updated within 24 hours.
